30 Day Challenge: BEFORE!
So here it is -- my commitment to joining Organizing-Junkie's 30 Day Organizational Challenge!
You may recall that I challenged myself to get things in order enough to start using the FlyLady's reminders -- well, I'm doing pretty good with that! My living room (while still cluttered) has been cleaned up, the kitchen is more caught up, and the bathroom is more presentable, so I have indeed been working on my own personal challenge.
I've been sick and in bed most of the past couple of days, which is why I am late getting my before pictures posted. The first picture is of a shelf which is between the kitchen and living room. There is no theme present here -- just a hodgepodge of books, candles, and some antiques that I do not have a place for.
Without further ado: Picture one!
Picture two is the top of my coat closet. I DID actually have this closet all organized at one point -- a LONG LONG time ago! As you can kind of see, I keep my seasonal wreaths on the top shelf, assorted little gifts I have picked up, and other stuff that I just stuff up there.
Ideally I would like to keep the wreaths up there. You can't tell, but the ceiling in that closet is really high, so I may try and attempt putting hooks up the walls to house the wreaths. Then I may use some bins to organize the gifts or whatever else I may need.
Picture number three is the corner of my living room near the television. This is a bunch of stuff I have no place for. More books, baskets with free samples, small gifts to make up gift baskets, a box of videos and DVDs on the floor, a cork board and dry erase board which needs to be hung up in our school area, and the vacuum -- which I also have no place for!
My last picture is of the inside of my little coat closet! It is stuffed to the brim with JUNK! Stuff and junk. Not much in the way of coats! I really want to get this organized before it snows so we have a place for our boots, hats, scarves, mittens, etc.
So I've done it. I've shown you my embarrassing bits and pieces in the living room! LOL I'm glad to have this challenge, as this is something I truly want to get done! With the holidays upon us, I want my living room to be welcoming to all guests!
Have a blessed week, and check out other-challenge-members and sign up yourself!

Hello! Thanks for joining the challenge! I hope it is helpful for you. You have some great ideas already (hanging the wreath up inside the closet..awesome!). The one thing I thought of though is you mentioned you had some giftie things in your closet as well as in your corner. My suggestion would be to combine these things into one spot...perhaps a tote that could house all of these things together. Please keep me posted as to how you are making out. Good luck! Laura
I can't wait to see your after pictures! Blessings to you!!!
Holy Cow! You have ANOTHER blog? That make three that I know of. Is there any more??? Wow, I don't know how you do it.
Hi! Great pics! I hang my wreaths in my closet and it works out great, they dont get smashed or broken. I cant wait to see your progress! Thanks for stopping by our blog, for home-ec I am using books I bought from parables and though I do really like them I think I could have come up with something just as good for less money.Take Care.
God Bless~Krystal
Just around visiting some of the participants. Hope you're making progress. I went to buy some baskets today and will start tossing tomorrow.
Hi! How are the projects going? I'm a late joiner and scrolling through all the participants. I look forward to seeing the results! Good luck!
