I never knew that I ROCKED!
I was so surprised and delighted to find out that two of my favorite bloggers bestowed the Rockin Girl Blogger Award upon ME! Lil' ol' ME! I'm sufficiently ecstatic I must tell you!
Stacy_nominated_me_here and my fellow homeschooling friend Melissa_awarded_me_here! I would most definitely award them right back! I love their blogs and I know that you will too. So check them out!
So I am supposed to award five other bloggers who I think are Rockin' Girl Bloggers.
1. I award Sandy who is such a wonderful Christian wife, mother, and homeschooler. She is such an inspiration. She also has a terrific sense of humor and the cutest kids ever :D
2. I award Stacy who only lives about 10 minutes from me, yet we met through blogs! I've really enjoyed reading about her life with her husband, moving into a new house, working with children, and about her pets! I love animals too, and I'm totally in love with Frankie!
3. Next I award a true-life friend of mine, Gem. She's truly outrageous. Truly, truly, truly outrageous. Ohhhhhhhhhh Gem! (I'm sorry, I've wanted to do that for so long!) She is also a homeschooler of 2 beautiful little girls (friends of Em) and a son who is such a cutie pie! And most exciting of all, she is expecting a baby! I am so happy for her and can't wait to cuddle on that baby!
4. A new-to-me blog, Brin_at_"My_Messy_Thrilling_Life" is my next Rockin' Girl Blogger. She is restoring a gorgeous house and I am living vicariously through her! Her blog is inspiring and just beautiful to look at. I know you'll love Freeman House as much as I do!
5. I award Sandra_at_Diary_of_a_Stay_at_Home_Mom! She is in the middle of a huge move right now, but is still finding time to host her weekly crockpot recipe exchange, Slow_Cooking_THursday. I have found so many great recipes by participating! Not to mention, she is also hilarious, down-to-earth, and a lot of fun.
6. I know, I know, it is supposed to be only five bloggers, but there is a sixth blog that I absolutely cannot and will not leave out, because she totally rocks as well! And I adore her blog.
Blessings_From_Abiga. She is a homeschooling Grandma (Abiga), a lovely Christian lady, an avid reader, a teacher, and she posts wonderful bread recipes! She lives about one state away from me and I think of her as a real-world friend, not just a "blog friend".I love so many blogs, I truly do, but these 8 (which include the 2 who awarded me) are my tip-top favorites!
And now, on with the show:
I just finished watching the second disc of the 1975 version of "Anne of Avonlea". It covers both that book and "Anne of the Island". I actually wept at the end! The acting and filming were SO BAD -- yet I just love each and every one of those characters so much! If the series went on for 50 discs I would rent each and every one of them!
*sigh*
I had a super busy day, not relaxing at all like I had hoped. Tons of laundry, dishes, planting, schoolwork, and cooking! Maybe tomorrow.
I wanted to share this blog series called "A Lady's Education" -- it has three parts to it and it is very encouraging, I think. Part_One Part_Two Part_Three I do some of these things already, but hope to do even more.
And in other news -- I plan to hang up a clothesline! Right here in suburbia. I will only put it up when in use, however. Nothing permanent. My goal is to hang 2-3 loads per week throughout summer and fall. I have been hanging about one per week and would like to bump it up. I am still cutting my dryer sheets in half for when I use the dryer. I am also using about 2/3 the amount of laundry detergent suggested (full strength for hubbies clothes though) and hope to do the same with dishwashing detergent.
Here is a free e-book that I read periodically (in all my 'free' time, lol) Thrift_In_the_Household It gives me lots of good ideas!
I've started posting some home/thrift links on my sidebar, if you are interested! I'll be posting more home links as well. If you are a homeschooler, I have a bevy of homeschool links HERE
Blessings!
Sherry

5 friends stopped by:
You like me, you really like me!!!
OK, stopped channeling Jim Carrey channeling Mary Tyler Moore.
Another thrifting/frugal blog is Like Merchant Ships. She's always got frugal advice and great thrifting finds!
Yeah, Congratulations Sherry! You definitely rock, and I'm so glad you played along, and nominated some others. I've got to go check some of those other ladies out :)
AW! *CONGRATULATIONS!* and *THANK YOU!* I can't believe it! Can't I award it right back? YOU ROCK! (((((HUGS))))) sandi~really very humbled actually, as these things with our online peeps really, really do mean sooo very much IRL!
Hi Sherry,
Gosh! High praise indeed! I'm honored you thought to include me in your "Rockin Blogger Girl" Awards. Thanks! I appreciate the nomination... and the kind write-up about my life and blog. You're too sweet!
I'm excited that you're moving forward with your clothesline idea. I use mine all week, and with the exception of a wooden drying rack I picked up at a flea market, it's the only "dryer" I have! Just trying to cut electricity usage and bills anyway I can...
Thanks again for the award! High praise coming from a a gal like you!
My best,
Brin
