Catch Up Post

I have seriously been lacking in substance for blog posts! There are just so many personal things going on in my life that I either can't or won't write about and it just makes it difficult to talk about anything else! But I am going to try harder.

Here is an update of some of the things I've been doing:

I am reading "Christie" - the DVD series that I love SO MUCH! I am now reading it. I don't have much time to read, but I savor every moment!

I am watching: I don't really watch t.v. I have been watching shows on my computer! Pretty much every network offers full episodes of some of their shows. My favorites are all of the CSI shows.

Movies: I recnetly went and saw "The Love Guru" -- don't ask. Please don't ask. Very college guy humor. But there were some funny moments. If you like that stuff.

DVD: I saw "Man on Fire" with Denzel Washington and that cute little blonde girl. It was a good movie. I can recommend this one for the adults! There is violence, but the acting is good and the storyline is riveting.

Work: I am still doing nursing home dictation for a local doctor from home. Minimal hours - usually only 10 -15, which is good for a very busy mom during the summer!

Diet: I have been TRYING REALLY HARD to eat healthier. I have my menu all made out for next week and I plan on being more focused and determined!

Exercise: I've been more active this summer. I've been taking walks with the kids, both on the track and through the woods. I'm playing ping pong and air hockey - you wouldn't think it would be such a workout, but I leave there after an hour drenched in sweat! We are also going to the beach once a week and I do a good 2 hours of exercise in the water.

Cooking: I'm not sure I have really tried anything new lately. I am still in love with anything coated in Fiber One cereal as per the Hungry Girl website. So much fiber and tasty crunchiness all in one! Amazing.

Friends: I met a new friend from the internet! She lives about 45 minutes away with her husband and three boys. We had SO much in common and when we met, it was like we'd known eachother forever! Her kids and my kids just adore eachother and we email back and forth every day.

Church: I haven't been going. *sigh*

God/Bible/Christianity: I feel guilty about the state of my marriage and that has kept me from my close relationship with the Lord lately. Even thought I know it isn't true, I feel like I'm "bad" and that God doesn't want anything to do with me. I'm working on that and plan on doing daily devotions again.

Kids: They are having a great summer vacation. Jake developed a cough that wouldn't go away, so I took him to the pediatrician and she said he has asthma. (30% of kids get asthma after having pneumonia). I was afraid of that. It is minor and she says we don't need to see a specialist at this point. He is doint the nebulizer and an inhaler right now until his cough goes away. He also got new glasses and the dentist is on the horizon for the whole family.

Vacations/Outings: We've gone to the beach and plan another trip for this Sunday. It is so awesome, except for my sunburn. I'm so bad about myself. This time SPF 50 for me too and extra on the kids. We went to Greenfield Village for the day with my sister. It is a collection of buildings and memorabilia collected by Henry Ford. It has the actual Robert Frost house, Thomas Edison, the Wright brothers, etc. Plus there are a whole lot of historic things to do. We also went to Henry Ford Estate. A great collection of old cars, buggies, planes, trains (and the Weinermobile!) plus the history of chocolate!, furniture through the years and a whole section on women's liberation. (We got the family pass to GFV and HF so there will be many more trips there) Other than that we've been to a couple of parks and to visit my new friend.

Something new? My new friend has talked me into taking a line dancing class! Ack! Me, Miss can't go anywhere without having a panic attack! We'll see how it goes!

I think I've filled you in on a lot of stuff here! Now it's time to work for a few hours and then hit the hay!

I hope you all had a wonderful 4th!

(Trivia: Did you know that only 2 people signed the Declaration of Independence on the 4th? The rest signed it on Aug 2nd!)
